jon stewarts america

ok, so i saw this:

http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2652831

its a video of jon stewart when he was on "crossfire" for a bit. it was very interesting to hear them discuss things. though it seemed like the hosts didnt want to hear what stewart had to say...

stewart was trying to make a point, that several of the "news" shows, like crossfire, say that they ask politicians and public figures the "hard questions" and debate with them. but in reality, they are not debating with them, but furthering their agenda and feeding them/supplying them tv time to sway the public to their side. its not that they are asking easy questions, its that they are accepting the answers without really making any attempt to understand them or let the public understand them. they let the half deceptions and quasi truths stand as fact.

so its not that they are hard on them, or easy on them, its that they arent making the effort to be anything on them... thats my read on it, anyway.

look at the clip. its pretty funny. and stewart makes some good points, most of which are not remotely pursued by the hosts as they ought to be...

ok, thats all for now.

To give the hosts some credit for not addressing the issues John Stewart brought up...
-They are are backed CNN and cannot insult the company name right then and there. Well I guess they could but that might be a breach of contract and they might not only get fierd but also pay big fines.
-Also who would expect John Stewart, a funnyman, to come on and address such a seriouse issue. They were probably very caught off gaurd and may have thought in the beginning that it was a joke (though I have only read the transcript thus far, not seent he clip).

This is not to defend how crappy I think their show is, in that it doesn't ask politicians to actually explain their ideas. Just saying that there might be a few reasons why they sounded so weird about what John Stewart had to say. Perhaps they will take it to heart, or perhaps Americans will take it to heart and stop watching the show, or write and ask for change.

what exactly were you testing there? Your ability to make a link that goes to the page you're already looking at? If so, it worked.
