OK, so the government is making its first big move of the new term. And it's not a pretty move.
The move I'm referring to can be seen here.
I tend to think this will be a bad idea. According to a different article, this bill would make drilling oil off of FL coast much easier for oil companies to do, as fewer factors could be considered by the legislature. I would like to hear a convincing argument from the pro side, so if anyone out there has one, please post it.
If you are concerned, you can write your representatives and tell them your opinion. Or if you like the idea, write your representatives and thank them. anyhow, here's the links:

Oy vay! Why does the government provide incentives for the wrong things?! We've talked about this before. Those oil tycoons could really cement their billions if they invested more money in alternative energy sources than in trying to find more finite sources. There's a key word there. Finite. I'm not a greenie, but come on! I'll put my Birks on for this one. I could wax philosophical on the economic incentives and horrible way this will likely turn out, but I am sleepy. Will be an econ nerd later. *shakes head* I can't believe how liberal I'm becoming. I guess that is what having an extreme right moron in office will do to a girl. I seem to be slipping off of my fence. Oh, and something you might be interested in. On NPR Diane Rehm show (my new fave thing to listen to on the way to school) they were talking about the "Constitution in Exile" movement. Seems a little extreme to me, but thought you'd like to learn about it. It goes along well with the early cases you hit in Con Law I and all the pre-New Deal stuff. Talked about that approach to judicial appointment as well. http://www.wamu.org/programs/dr/05/04/19.php
That's the link to her show.
There's no single website but a google search for "constitution in exile" brings up a lot of hits.
