Done and Done... well actually I am not sure I read Papillion or not... I saw the movie yesterday and I knew what was going to happen... so I think I did... perhaps worth a reread then.

It's funny that you mention 1984, Brave New World and Siddhartha on here. A day or two ago, I was talking to two high school girls about their reading list for senior year and they were currently reading 1984. I mentioned that my three favorite books from Mr. Rutkowsky's class were the above mentioned.

My Top 10 wouldn't include them though...

1. The Chronicles of Narnia
1. Jane Eyre
1. The Count of Monte Cristo
1. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
1. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
1. The Harry Potter Septet
7. Till We Have Faces
8. The Time Traveler's Wife
9. This Present Darkness/Piercing the Darkness.
10. Lonesome Dove

I have been wanting to read Stardust and Papillon for a loooooong time, and seeing them on your list might just force me to go get them!

This was fun Andy! Thanks : )

I thought I was doing pretty good as I zipped through your bottom five and then I got to your top five and just felt like a failure :)

And these aren't top ten favorites, but top ten books everyone should read? That I think would take some more time. Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series is a personal favorite, but I can acknowledge that it's not for everyone... hmmm...

I think that these are top 10 books that stand out in their genre as the best/premier books of that genre.

But I do have some favorite books that didn't make the cut. I will also acknowledge that these books are in my top x list of favorite books too, though.
